Actually, I began working on hybridomas in 1978 at Scripps, right after taking my Ph.D. degree from USC. The technology worked quite well very early, with publications beginning in 1980. Maybe it was those balb/c mice at USC that slowed things down up there :-).

In any event, has this thread made enough noise to get buyers interested in 3rd tier Biotechs? Just this week the WSJ had a fairly extensive article on Biotech investing for the past decade and the article (linked to the Biotech Boom table at biocognizance.com) made it sound like there was still a lack of listeners for those falling trees. The above page also has links to a fairly recent report by Jean Deleage, who has been funding Biotechs since GNE, and he also warned of a big time consolidation, with many casualties. Sounds like this thread still has some work to do.

Any comments?
