Technical Analyst on CNBC panned LSI because it had fallen to less than 1/2 its all time high on the basis that this is a terrible technical analysis indicator.

Obviously, he has little experience with the volatility of these cyclical tech stocks.

e.g. Last week, MU blew through the 1/2 its all time high barrier and isn't looking back. In the Semi Equipment area, any list of the leaders would also fit the same description.

It appears that this technical indicator may be of little value when the street throws out a whole sector for cyclical rather than fundamental reasons.
