WelcomeTo Search Engine Inc. Acquisition Closed
VANCOUVER, Jan. 5 /CNW-PRN/ - The Board of Directors of WelcomeTo Search
Engine Inc., a public company (OTC
Bulletin Board: WKWG - news) is pleased to announce that further to the letter of intent
announced on Oct 27, 1998, that it
has acquired all of the outstanding shares of WelcomeTo Search Engine Inc., a private
Company. As previously agreed, the
Board of Directors of the public company has resigned and will be replaced by the
existing Board of Directors of the private
company.
WelcomeTo Search Engine will be offering a complete Internet solution for businesses in
a point and click, geographically
focused, filtered search environment. The Company intends to launch the search engine
in a limited number of cities, in the first
quarter 1999. ''We believe we will be providing the most efficient and practical business
oriented search environment currently
available on the internet'' stated Brent Forgeron President of WelcomeTo, ''being up
and operational will give us the platform
to demonstrate the tremendous benefits of our search engine. Once operational the
regional search engine template can be
replicated, allowing us to rapidly expand on a city by city basis.''
WelcomeTo is currently finalizing agreements with key industry partners that will enable
the Company to offer, in addition to its
search technology, a unique bundle of services to its business clients. These services
include - the ability to create customized
Internet storefronts, an inventory database feature, which is capable of categorizing and
cataloging products, as well as an
e-commerce package, which can facilitate Internet purchase transactions. The
company's product mix provides a complete
Internet solution for business.
The Company's website at www.welcometosearch.com. has recently been updated
with new design features and content. The
site is currently being moved to a different server in preparation for the launch of the
Search Engine. The website may be
inaccessible for the next 24 hours as a result of this relocation activity. The website will
be updated on an ongoing basis leading
to the launch of the Search Engine scheduled for the first quarter 1999.
