Vid cards: as always, it depends on what your needs are. :)

FWIW, I think the "age" of cards based on, e.g., ATI's Rage Pro (AIWP, Xpert 98 series, etc.) are probably a virtue if you're using a machine for work, rather than 3d games. This is because ATI, along with Matrox, do a great job of driver updates. Their rage pro drivers for both NT and 9x are excellent and now very stable, in part since they've gone through several iterations.

I have had great luck so far with my AIWP after a puzzling refusal of the video player to work under NT at first. A very impressive little card with excellent image quality at my preferred 1100x864 resolution.

Assuming that the voodoo 2's don't raise compatibility issues, I don't see how you could loose with the AIWP/v2 combo. If you want video and vid capture, the only question is whether it's worth shelling out more $ and no NT support (yet) for the Matrox Marvel instead.
