BioNet Technologies Adds E-Commerce to Its Web Site
JUPITER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 7, 1999--BioNet Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: BNTK - news) announced today that it is expanding its existing web site to include e-commerce consisting of catalogue sales and classified ads. The company will offer a catalogue targeting a wide range of animal health related products.
The site will provide the visitor the opportunity to enjoy one-stop shopping for health and nutrition related items for their favorite pet or their commercial livestock.
The company will divide its e-commerce addition into distinct sections. Each section will focus on its own multi-billion dollar market segment. The pet section will provide pet owners with an opportunity to obtain the finest nutritional supplements, vitamins and health and beauty aids for their favorite pets as well as products designed to improve the quality of life for pet and pet owner alike.
Commercial animal owners will have their own section; designed to improve the performance or productivity of their specific animals from livestock to race horses. A classified section will be offered where people can advertise products related to the animal industry. Everything from stud services to other interesting or hard to find products and services will be offered through the web sites classified section. Additions to the web site have begun and are expected to be on line by January 31st. Further sections will be added to serve the veterinary industry as products become available and demand warrants.
In addition to the e-commerce site, bulletin boards and chat sites will be added to provide a meeting place for pet owners, professional animal owners and breeders and veterinarians to exchange information and ideas pertaining to their particular field of interest.
The company's web site, bionettech.com already provides information on its two subsidiaries. Immune Technologies has developed a proprietary product utilizing their innovative new ''Immune Modulation Technology.'' This process treats microbial infections by enhancing or strengthening the patient's immune system enabling the animal to, in effect, cure itself.
Immune's products that will be marketed under the tradename IMODâ„¢ have proven extremely effective in clinical trials and are being submitted to the USDA for approval in veterinary applications. Initial target markets are for diseases affecting horses, dogs, cats, cows and pigs. GreenGold International, BioNet's other subsidiary, owns patents relating to the commercial production of duckweed a water plant which produces protein superior to soy beans at rates 10 times faster than soy beans and which has been used globally for over 15 years as a viable alternative for treating nitrogen rich waste water.
GreenGold's business plan calls for the integration of its duckweed production units into the waste disposal systems of hog farms, replacing the traditional method of spraying the waste on open fields.
According to Alan Schafler, President of BioNet Technologies, ''The expansion of our web site to include e-commerce is in sync with our company name and mission. This addition has always been an integral part of our overall business plan. By offering the public and the professional community an opportunity to use our site as a place to satisfy their needs for quality products as well as information, we can generate significant income for our shareholders and develop an important dialogue at the same time.
''Additionally, the fact that we are committed to health and science as evidenced by our subsidiaries, our customers will know that the products we offer are the finest quality available. We are pleased that the market has shown such enthusiasm for companies involved in e-commerce lately.''
