<<LG Semicon bought Zenith and LG claims HDTV silicon right?>>

Actually LG (the big parent company) owns Zenith, LG Semiconductor, and a bunch of other LG companies. LG Semicon claims to have HDTV silicon, and LG Semicon is being sold to Hyundai, who previously dumped Odeum. I assume that the HDTV silicon part of LG is going to Hyundai, even though the HDTV systems part, including Zenith, is staying at LG.

In addition, Daewoo Consumer Electronics is going to Samsung Electronics, and Samsung Motors (autos) is going to Daewoo's auto division.

The word is that the details of all of these trades will will take some time to work out. The labor groups are very unhappy, and there have been several major demonstrations. It's all very confusing in Korea, but then, so is the impeachment process in the U.S.!
