Unfortunately, Joe, the vast majority of those games which will not run on D3D have been out quite a while. Notable exceptions are the Quake2-based OpenGL games and some others that have come out recently. But now that D3D is apparently easier to use under DirectX6, any game developer would be very short-sided not to support D3D without a very good software renderer. Unless, of course, 3dfx was paying their bills. :)
