Hi Jim,
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my posts. I am embarrased to say I am ALL over IRC and the internet Newsgroups. I am even running the Eagles E-mail list at the moment. How I get into all this stuff and still have time to trade stocks is beyond me. Maybe if I spent more time on my stocks I'd do better!!!
I hang out, where else, #eagles on the Undernet server, my nick is Lindaa^. I find the internet newsgroups sometimes full of junk, so most of us post to the E-mail list or AOL Bulletin Boards. But, yes the newsgroups on the internet are really a wonderful access for information on many, many topics.
My husband is very adapt at surfing the net. He has just about every sports area in existance bookmarked. He does admit that AOL has some features that he cannot reach through the internet, and I think he has come around to my way of thinking, that as long as we can get it for $9.95/month it is good deal just to supplement our direct access. For the moment, as long as both of us are finding use for it, we will hang onto it.
We wavered back and forth in selling our AOL stock, I think as it drifts down, we will get back into it at some point.
Here is a question for the group: How will the stock price react on Monday to the report that AOL has been given 5 days to respond to the claims/charges against it? On the one hand, it makes AOL answer sooner, than later, to the assertions, but on the other hand, if they have nothing to say, it could be bad news for the stock. I can't decide.
