DJ, It probably is...and it doesn't have to be a false rumor that gets them in trouble...but... if I understand the LG/Hyundai agreement, they will still make their collective share of DRAM. One of the two will not make DRAM and the other will do foundry business. The net is still the same capacity but yet the rumor still results in added positive momentum. These guys pull this out all the time to drive the stock up or drive the stock falsely down to benefit their position. The end result will just add more opposite momentum when the facts come out.
