Hi all, stumbled across this thread quite by accident. This is not about sex.

So today the Senate is doing their thing. He has been impeached. No question there. It is now up to the Senate to bring it to trial. If they do not, a very dangerous precedent is being set here.

1. If I ever go before a grand jury it would be perfectly OK for me to lie my head off. The President of the United States has set the precedent. He lies, no problem. Same goes for me.

2. If I ever go before a grand jury I will expect them to come to my home as Clinton did. He refused to go to them 5 times and in frustration they went to him. I will also set a time limit (unheard of in any grand jury testimony). I will also have my lawyer present (unheard of before a grand jury).

3. I will tamper with any witnesses that may have something to say against me. The President of the United States has proved he has done so, setting the precedent that it is perfectly OK.

4. I will hide any and all evidence that may pertain to the case. The President of the United States did so (through a third party). He has set the precedent.

5. If he gets off with censure, I will not expect to do any jail time either because the President of the United States has set the precedent.

We are in very dangerous territory here. If our chief law enforcement officer is allowed to lie and tamper with witnesses and evidence, then any hardened criminal will be allowed to lie and possibly get off.

Again, this is not about sex. Nobody cares about the sex. This is about law. Once a precedent has been set, it will be written up as case law in every law book in the country and can and will be used to get the ordinary criminal off.

What kind of a country will we end up with if the President of the United States is held above the law....the law that he pledged on a bible to uphold.
