There is no reason to believe that they will not acquire Horesenet.com. As for their web site, it may have a bland interface, but it works well enough for them to do business. They are also in the process of getting more brokers as well. It is simply inconceivable that they would sit on their collective asses and do nothing to expand their business contacts. They would not have made it this far if they were "can't do" people. When you state that they only have brokers in a few states, what other company are you comparing it with? Ooops, I forgot, there is no competition. These guys are the first in this field of on-line agricultural auctions. Even if a competitor actually develops in the near future, MBTI will have a huge head start in terms of farmers' mindshare and having a well developed brokerage network. As for their financials, they expect to have $1 billion in listed on-line inventory (by 2000) with MBTI taking 2% of the sales. I will do some more "serious" inquiry and get to back to you later.
