Bob, I really think that both you and the Eagle Forum people would benefit a great deal from living for a little while outside the US. If you knew the rest of the world a little better you might fear it a little less. Your misunderstanding of the third world might be improved if you read some impartial studies of colonialism, neocolonialism, and their effects. It cannot hurt to understand how things came to be the way they are. I actually thought of trying to reply point by point to the Eagle Forum, but on closer examination found that it betrayed such a total and stunning ignorance of the way the world actually operates, combined with such a total and overt terror of change, that it would simply not be worth my time or trouble. Viewed in totality, it really is typical paranoid John Bircher trash. The first two quotes you cited don't even specify the subject of the fear in question, which makes it hard to cite them as support for your contention. Do you think that allegiance to the principles of the UN is fundamentally incompatible with allegiance to the US? Don't be so scared of everybody out there. Steve
