Bill, IMO all of the on-line brokerages have their good times and bad times. Right now E-Trade is going through a very bad time. It will probably change. My stock club uses E-Trade and has had no problem but just read the notes on this thread. Lombard has had it's problems but I haven't heard anything bad about Datek. Why don't you keep your cash in a "regular" brokerage and don't trade. Use an on-line brokerage to do your trading. Just don't keep a lot of money with them. Like I said in my previous note, I have had very little problems with JB Oxford. Trading at $10, $15 or $20 per trade makes no difference to me. What's 5 or 10 dollars when you buy 5,000 shares? Market meltdown? Bite your tongue. Good Luck.
