I agree with you that all on line brokers are going to go through good and bad times. I have had the same frustrations as others on this thread with Etrade down time and inaccessibility, but I think they will get on top of all of this soon. Lombard & Eschwab have also had problems, just not as bad. I view this as demand for Etrade outstripping their capacity. If they can catch up I think stock will keep surprising on the upside.

I do know that on about a half dozen occassions Etrade has gotten me a better price than my bid and that has NEVER happened to me with Charles Schwab. Some have mentioned delayed fill time but that has not been my experience.

I am also impressed with their web page design. Also use Lombard and I think Etrade have them beat hands down on features.
