Mark: re: very long term hold Read B.Graham's book and find out who is Mr. Market then you can start thinking about whether your stretegy is really for the very long term. IMHO, you stretegy is more like a trader (who intend to catch the market movement) It is not bad to be a trader, just be sure that you are consistent. Base you decision on ideas from long term investor would be a disaster. They don't care about market movement.
