What the public wants, the public gets,

perhaps.

From Cramer this morning:

... There was an elderly gentleman standing behind the stage after the show. When I talk markets with people, I never want to talk about what I am thinking -- heck, that I know -- and I asked him what he was buying and what he was holding on to during that difficult market. He said, "I won't sell my Yahoo! -- that could be the next blue-chip, the next Microsoft."

I remember telling him that I had not thought about it like that. I said I thought of Yahoo! as a highflier. I meant it pejoratively. He looked me in the eye and said that's what everybody told him about Microsoft -- he missed that, but he wasn't going to miss the next one. I warned him to be careful out there, but I told him the truth, which is if someone took away my Yahoo!, there would be all heck to pay.

And he said, "Me too."

That was a couple of hundred points ago. Guess the old guy knew what he was doing. Wish I hadn't been so Wall Street. Wish I had been more Main Street. Main Street knows what it's doing -- big time.
