Well, that makes some sense.

What Clinton did is an attack on our system of justice and on the rule of law. That is an affront to the Constitution, which he swore to uphold and protect.

Why are we the world's most enduring democratic REPUBLIC? Because we have a Constitution that places the rule of law above the rule of powerful men and protects the people against the tyranny of government, of which 20th century Communist totalitarianism is the ultimate form. See Hannah Arendt's Origins of Totalitarianism.

Whether or not a President is "popular" has no bearing when it comes to judging his crimes, otherwise a popular president would be given license to do dangerous things, extra-Constitutional things. If Clinton wins, then the rule of the most powerful man will have defeated the rule of law. That is a dangerous precedent but that has been the history of mankind as the Founders knew so well.

Our Constitution was also designed to preclude rule by the mob and government by caprice. That is especially important in this age of Clinton and Jerry Springer. Clinton and cronies have been trying to defeat the Constitution and justice by directly appealing to the mob. That is dangerous, but so far has failed as 70% really don't care if he is removed even though they may nominally "oppose" such action.
