Tom, "If the earning were going to be that good, AMD would have provided additional guidance to analysts." Not necessarily. AMD went into its' quiet period, I think around Dec 14. Hutchinson Technology reported 52 cents yesterday. The estimate was 17 cents. Where was the guidance to the analysts? (Answer: Nowhere.) Moral of the Story: Sometimes earnings blow away estimates, and just surprise everyone. I'm not saying that AMD will. Just that it can, and does, happen.
