Rumors? Well, how about a few facts: Accent was in grave trouble during the 3rd Quarter of '96 and it has a critical need to establish a strategic relationship with a much larger player in the software industry. Microsoft has $9 billion + in cash and must make enormous investments within the software industry if it to avoid a meltdown in its yearly revenue growth. Internet growth in 5 years will expand by over 1000% and most of the growth will occur outside of the U.S. Accent has worked with Microsoft in the past and Accent has excellent multilingual word processing and internet browsing software.

Now wouldn't it be nice if (for long term Accent investors -- if anyone exists besides me) Accent posted better than expected earnings for the final quarter of '96 and Microsoft bought a 20% stake in Accent -- combined with the announcement of an Accent plug-in for Explorer that would be incorporated in future relases of Microsoft's operating systems?

My senario is pure speculation -- I do not claim to possess any crystal ball, but the daily share volume of Accent over the last couple of weeks makes me hopeful that Robet Butkus' message is true.
