Im hearing discussion on CNBC of a pending shortage in DRAM w/ a resulting rise in their price. Part of discussion was its impact on "just-in-time" manufactures like Dell who could see immediate cost increases. Soooo, If I am a manufacture w/ rising costs in one area, and in a highly competitive price sensitive market, would I not try to immediately find offsetting savings in other components? Like the CPU? So the question becomes what mass market uses a lot of DRAM and needs a Java/Forth fast cheap chip?
