One tidbit from that LONG thing that I wanted to point out to those who "recoiled in horror" upon seeing the length of the text. Landline Displacement Becoming a Reality Landline displacement stories are becoming more than an occasional anecdote, as these roam- and long-distance-free price plans compare quite favorably to some pay phone, calling card, and even landline intraLATA long-distance rates, especially considering the added convenience of mobility. The Yankee Group believes displacement from wireline to wireless begins to occur when the wireless to wireline price ratio is 3-to-1 or less. This has been shown in countries such as Israel, Japan (PHS), and some Scandinavian wireless markets. The Yankee Group defines this ratio as the wireless premium. Jon.
