To Michel Landry and Virginijus: If you care to access the following web site home.istar.ca you will be able to read a comprehensive report on Kazakhstan. The country is still going through its growing pains but by the same token the World Bank has seen fit to extend a $1.0 billion credit program to Kazakhstan! The principals of KMC have been active in the country since 1993 and have a good understanding of how things work while at the same time have assisted the government in developing its gold mining laws. They have established some excellent relationships within the governmental system, both federally and provincially, and while it is understood many things do not operate yet to western standards, believe that their position in Kazakhstan is secure and worthwhile. Investment in Kazakhstan is not without risk but the principals believe the country is on the right track and that when metals prices and oil prices prove to be at solidly higher levels their faith in their investment in Kazakhstan will pay off.
