Cisco isn't making cable modems - they're selling their Cisco Networks Sofware to Sony, Samsung and others who will be building Cable Modems WITH CISCO LOGOS on the front pannel!!! That's significant! Perhaps you should do some homework. Cisco nearly owns all of the cable headend out there and have influenced the market away from DAVIC. Cisco's GSR's and uBR products look like they own Cable right now. And given the archictecture of these nets...at least right now...there is little play for ATM switching.... ASND missed the boat... OG
