" Maybe because I felt that
a deal with IBM is a kiss of death like another company we know."
Seems desirable to me to have IBM as a major (but not only customer). The fact that the most technologically advanced drive manufacturer (including very good capablilities with wires and pico) still loves HTCH's TSA is very encouraging. Especially since IBM is the only customer who could go elsewhere for TSA without paying royalties.
Note that the size of HTCH's offering would appear to be much more than needed just for existing customers. They seem to believe both SEG and even Fujitsu represent real opportunities if they can ever catch demand from existing customers.
It would seem that with competitors having to buy expensive TSA flexures from HTCH, increasingly tight tolerances, high capital expenditures and with HTCH's proprietary microactuation coming soon, that this business should be getting pretty unattractive for the cometition. Z
