Hi Barry : RE> Long term, this may be the point for AOL. <;; I don't follow you there..hmmm your a little over my head with that one..maybe it'l hit me before you get back, I just don't get the drift of how it could help AOL in any way.
> The FCC has also talked about with some prompting by the RBOCs charging ISPs for access. Probably won't happen as FCC has the conflicting goal of wanting inet access open to all, but it shows the intent of the RBOCs.< ------------- You hit that on the head, that's why I hate to see any of them gorillas in the internet ISP biz..let them furnish backbone but them being the ISPs will hurt us all..the privet users the most..but you know with their clout I don't rule out them pushing a ISP access tax on us, as it would work in their favor, and I see them trying and it's one of the reasons I know they don't have my best interest at heart at all..they just want me to bend over and take it like a man..but I'm not that type..<G> What gets me is how some people seem to love getting shafted, and that just gives the gorillas more nerve to pull their tricks ------------- "often the rich get richer an the poor poorer, with the poor helping to arrange it." People who think they are getting a good deal with a freebe handed out by AT&T or any of them just don't understand the system, they will reduce your rates..but get you via the back hole..with putting a tax on you , and reducing what they have to pay, or getting them selves a hand out..I'm aginst all the major players being able to furnish ISP service..it's that simple..they will do all they can to create a monopoly and then shaft you. We need the little ISPs..and no accses tax. AOL is just as underhanded as they know how to be, so right now I'm at war with them, can't take em all on at once..but I want to smush this roach, while he's down, and make no apoligies for my attitude. AOL sucks.. JIM |
