Hi K.J >Happend to find this, they will do about as good in Australia, as they have in Euorpe, or maybe Russia..like they will lose more money..but the exec's will have a job, and that's all they care about. .......... BTW here are sme more of my thoughts, about buy out.. AOL wont get bought out..or I seriously doubt it.., chapter 11 has a much better chance than a buy out..what's to buy AOL rents the biggest part of it's equipment..look at the book value..$1.91 a share...all they have is the customer base..normally that would be worth something..but not much under these conditions, why buy her customers when you can just wait a while and get most of them for free..and who wants an old system..like do you have any idea how old some of AOLs servers are..and what new ones can do..your likely running at least a k4 or k5 cpu..what would you give for an old 286 today..try to sell a 286..even one that works good..and cost 3,500 new ( I still have one, and a 386 too ) my wife uses the 386 to write letters on , I don't know why I'm keeping the 286..hmmm...maybe to give to a grand child to learn something on..maybe some day I'll crank it up and find a use for it..old EGA screen..but nice..will run win 3.0..make a damm good server say for a BBS system..as the 286 in dos mode will handle the I/O of even a 56k modem..( with a fast uart I can stick in for $10) so the cpu will still be faster than the modem can put it to her.. and with fast drives she will carry a BBS as good as a K5, but mostly I still have her because ain't no one going to give me anything for her..3,500 cost, jam up top of the line at the time, and I built her my self, got in her 3rd pair of hard drives.., completely wore out the bearings on the old ones..hmmm..what she worth..doubt I could get a hundred bucks for her..sold an old good working 386 with a BIG tower case not long ago..guy wanted the big tower case mostly..he added some hard drive and is running a BBS with her now..I got free lifetime access to his BBS, and $200 dollars for the computer, had 8 meg of ram too..what kind of servers do you think AOL is running..new ones ? ha.. AOL is an "old" BBS system..the resale on that stuff what of it that they own is next to nothing..$1.91 book value, and running at loss of over $3 a share..when an old comanny runs at a loss as long as AOL has..people should wake up...she can't turn it around, without a compleat overhaul, and new managment style..the old ideas are just that and as long as they cling to them the deeper the hole is going to get for her to fall into..the BYOA..is not a new idea either..and I can get that all over the place..free ! It's furnished by avertisers..AOL lovers are so much into their own world..they can't see the forest for the trees they think their tree is the best one going..while it's just blocking the view they could have..with a few gimics that are older than my ole 286.. Chapter 11..within a year, and no buy out..they may get taken over maybe..by a dept holder..but after the chapter 11, and if they waqnt to make real head way in euorpe or such they will have to change the name..no buy out before chapter 11..
