My cable modem (@home in Phoenix, AZ) is $30/mo for service if you have cable TV, $40 without cable TV. Plus $15/mo for the modem unless you wanna buy it for $300. (I figure by next year the modem will be obsolete, so why buy it.) My total is $45/mo with no usage charges and including 3 e-mail boxes. I eliminate the extra phone line that was costing $25/mo and eliminate the ISP that was $35/mo. (My wife also had an ISP account and I can use the cable modem to feed all my computers by using a Linux box as a gateway to the internet using IP masquerading, so I have 3 computers on the net simultaneously.) So I am SAVING $15 per month and get 1 MB to 3 MB speed to boot!
(Sorry for the tech-speak.)
