Ron, it goes deeper than holding physical gold, the wearing & giving of (near pure) gold jewlry goes to the very basis of their culture. The side bet, I'd be afraid to short the Internuts any time soon. Maybe the buying of the best mining stock on margin, but these are the things of history. One could die dead broke waiting for the correction in the .nets & .coms. They might put on the head stone "The valuations were unreal". At some point in the future (good or bad) the mass population of India will own large amounts of gold. I grabbing some profits in the ups & downs between here & there. Yes, Y2k may well bring a very real move in th POG. One must wonder, if the American people were they to live through a time where "that worthless yellow metal" saved lives & fortunes would ever forsake it again?! rh
