I don't
think you can use this with your current setup (your boot
partition is NTFS, right?).

For the NT drive, right....... Thats really strange that nowhere in this section of Optimizing WinNT called Creating a WinNT Startup Disk, does Sean Daily mention having to make this disk DOS bootable.

From the book pp 715 ( chapter 12- Maintaining your NT system:

.............it is a good idea to supplement your data recovery resources by creating a special Windows NT Startup Disk. In a situation where the NT boot process is failing, you may be able to use this disk to access resources on your system's hard drive(s),even if they are formated under NTFS!.............

End Quote

He goes on for three more pages describing how to create the disk and DOS is never mentioned. The entire process takes place in NT. I don't get it. I wish you had the book to see what I mean

Anyway...I was just trying to cover the bases as far as emergency disks go. So I have just the ERD made now. And the DI disks. Are there other disks that are needed? Sorry if you already covered them.. so many topics covered recently I lose track of some stuff that turns out to be important.
Daily also mentions system modification logs, Registry backups, using Disksave and Diskprobe to backup critical disk info. Should I be considering any of these? I hope not..<gg>
