I understand your concern. However, Paracelsian has AndroVir which is another way of treating AIDS (Kinase vs. Protease). For those folks who have AIDS, if the current cocktail is not the answer, they will be looking for other alternatives.

I just looked through this mornings paper again, and I did not see any article on how the current cocktail is not working. The two big releases of information this week were on the costs of the cocktails and how insurance companies were balking, as well as the fact that no one knows long term how these individuals will fare under the cocktail.

According to last press release, AndroVir will be offered for 1,000 a year, and as we have seen, has little side effects. We also know there may be a HUGE market outside of the United States for a cost-effective treatment. On the other hand, we also don't know if long term AndroVir can maintain its power over the AIDS virus.

I agree in principal that folks are looking for the cure for AIDS and Cancer. But what do patients do in the meanwhile? And as we know, there are a lot of them out there right now.
