Besides, the cacheless Celeron is already entering oblivion. Sure, the stigma still remains, but people are most likely going to forget about it very quickly.

The whole point of Celeron was to devalue the entry level market. Intel wants Celeron to be considered lower quality. Imagine what would happen if Intel's business customers found out they could buy a $600 computer which works as well as their $1500 unit.
