If by "hold times spiking" translates to people holding onto their equities for longer periods of time...

then....

I would say that this phenomena is due in part to the fact that THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE BULL MARKET!!!!!!

For Pete's sake....the internet trading firms are relatively new, inexperienced, and immature entities. In contrast, these companies are trading massive quantites of equities, dealing with a huge number of NEW customers who are dealing with an entirely NEW trading medium. They themselves (Ameritrade staff) are working in unchartered territory dealing with the latest technology.

I think that AMTD, EGRP, SWS, NDB, and the countless others are doing a phenomenal job given the infancy of this marketplace.

Regards and good weekend to all,

jason

P.S. and no...I am not an employee. I am amazed at how quickly our society digests NEW technology. I am shocked at how quickly we become jaded.
