1) Would Who? Vision count as a "pure play" Internet in your book? They are securing networks, whether they be LANs, WANs, VPNs, intranets or Internets - wired or wireless. They are not providing security for files and physical storage, per se, as far as I know, but for resources over networks. I would call this pure play. SO I think this would be the first.
2) If they go public. There is Axcess, Inc. (formerly Lasertechnics) that is already public that XL Vision has a big stake in, which they could use to merge Who? and/or Integrated Visions into to make a public company. There is also SAFlink (NRID) that XL bought the healthcare biometric business from. I don't think all these companies will exist as separate entities through '99, especially given the XL/Safeguard connection.
The only other companies I would consider pure Internet are Nextron, US Interactive, and perhaps Arista Learning Systems. If not Who?, then I think Nextron would provide the most bang for the buck as a rights offering.
