WOW!! Just started looking into this company. Although earnings have not been strong in the past, looks like smooth sailing from here! After you read the stuff that follows, consider a couple things: First, most of the loss from last year seams to stem from write downs on their assets, a large chunk seems to include a write down of "good will" Hey, If they can swing it, God Bless them!!. Second, Zacks has them posted as growth rate of 50% over 5 yrs, in an industry which is expected to have over 240% growth rate this year!! That doesn't sound like much, untill you read the following newer developments which put them in bed with Williams Communications, and Lucent. Third, the charts show very heavy buying at the later part of the day, on a Friday, no less!! More than one or two "somebodies" like this stock!! Good strong up trend indicated for for next week. Another nice rebound to 10 could be handled very nicely.
-- Intelect Network Technologies (INT) is now completing its distribution arrangements with the Williams Communication Solutions division of the Williams Companies. A joint marketing roll out program is now being developed for US and Canadian markets. Priority focus will be on Williams" large enterprise customer base. -- The Optical Networks Division of Lucent Technologies has technically endorsed Sonetlynx and agreed to jointly pursue with INT large scale network projects in the utilities industry. -- SonetLynx has successfully completed a six-month trial and review in Motorola"s engineering test lab and INT has been advised of certification as a network backbone product for internal applications at Motorola as well as their customers" networks. -- INT has also added two major national integrators and resellers as channel partners for Sonetlynx and LANscape. One is Clover Technologies, recently acquired by Ameritech, specializing in data networking applications with a large corporate customer base in the Midwest, including the automobile industry. The other is Scientech, specializing in both high-end security applications and telco networks with customer relationships with Sprint and Cable & Wireless. INT is jointly pursuing large contracts with both of these channel partners that are currently at advanced stages with the end customers. -- INT recently opened representation in Mexico through TAAS with high level receptions for FibreTrax and LANscape among Telmex, Pemex, Telenor, El Norte, Cemex and others that have generated three substantial bid requests during the first thirty days of the relationship. -- During the third quarter of 1998, new network management features were added to the SonetLynx product line. The new system is capable of serving large networks, both SONET-only and mixed mode. A DS3 transport interface was introduced to provide the higher capacity typical of Internet Service Providers and enterprise access connections. To better serve Internet Frame Relay connections for service providers, an efficient T1/E1 redundancy was developed so that one interface can serve as backup to seven others. The ongoing development plan over the next four quarters for multiservice access capabilities includes bandwidth expansion to OC-48 and interface expansions to include ATM, Frame Relay, FDDI, ISDN, PRI and BRI, Fiber Channel - all integrated into a single platform with one network management system providing the customer with a smooth transition from legacy protocols to the emerging higher bandwidth interfaces. -- Intelect Visual Communications ("IVC") has signed Dell and Gateway to supply factory installed LANscape products on their high-end PC platforms. -- IVC has projects underway with Qwest and MCI to offer network customers "flat-fee" and "pay-as-you-go" services over high speed frame relay and T1 access services. -- The LANscape application set has been expanded to include video streaming for Internet applications and video-on-demand for video content providers of movies and educational videos. -- LANscape has incorporated ITU H.323 video compliance to provide full interoperability with other video sources in LAN environments. -- The rapid rate of adoption of Texas Instruments C6000 line of DSP processors is generating expanding product opportunities and sales for the DSP Design Center at Intelect"s DNA Enterprises. A record level of orders for DNA"s DSP board products was achieved in the third quarter, with substantially improving margins and deliveries scheduled during the fourth quarter. A temporary shortage of components, now alleviated, delayed some DNA DSP product shipments from the third to the fourth quarter. DNA"s strategic relationship with TI continues to expand with the signing of a new development contract for utilizing TI"s new extended function C6701 floating point DSP processor. In addition, DNA"s ASP6x Operating System for the TI C6000 has been delivered to over 200 customers worldwide who are evaluating applications of the C600 coupled the ASP6x. DNA"s ASP6x licensing potential combined with board design licensing programs though SCI Systems is expected to begin generating a royalty income stream for Intelect early in 1999. |
