Your new monitor will work just fine on your old system. You shouldn't need to change a thing. Once you hook it up, you'll probably want to set the card to a much higher resolution, and it's possible that your video card won't handle this, but unlikely if you upgraded it recently. This shouldn't be hard to do--if it's unclear how once you get that far, just ask for further help.
