These may be stupid questions - but I am going to ask anyway since Pat never laughs at me to hard..........How do VOIP calls enter the switched network from my cable modem? I am assuming now that the ISP will have something to do with this process. Is that necessarily true? Will there always be a switched network for Granny? If we eventually do transition to an all-IP network because of cost, how will that be done?

If somebody would point me in the right direction, I sure would appreciate it.

TIA,

bp
