Did anyone see the Thursday Wall Street Journal cover page article regarding UNEQUAL TREATMENT? The article articulates how banks are mining newly created databases to create profit profiles for each customer and tailor levels of service based on the profile.

I dont know about other people, but my bank gets a $500 monthly balance because of poor service I receive from them. Schwab, a company that understands they are nothing but service, and acts accordingly, gets everything else.

The article also mentions the significant "resistance to the industrys push twards conducting as many transactions as possible via ATM or in-line... customers want to speak to a human". Is banking and brokerage that different? IMHO no. Banks will learn from discount brokerages with great service, on or off line, or lose customers to them. Look for EBPP to become a weapon in warfare for the profitable customer.
