I disagree with most of the article. I just posted it in case people want to read it. Furthermore, a rigid rule like that can never work in all situations.

Perhaps I was not being clear, perhaps your short position in VIAS (if you have one) is blinding you, or perhaps neither. Deferred Revenue has no effect on the current quarter's income. In fact, it pushes out Net Income to future quarters.

I could be wrong since I'm no accounting expert. This is the last time I intend to write about Deferred Revenue.
