Which issue of Barrons? On what basis would the stock advance to close to 50?

ATLI technology is good but they have been leapfrogged by arch competitor Acuson (see my comment in the Acuson thread); ATL's only brilliant move in the last year was a PMA allowing them to market their HDI technology as a tool for aiding in the distinction between benign and malignant solid masses in the breast. That move was really nothing more than an outstanding marketing manouver, as the characteristics that one uses for diagnosis are visible not only with HDI but also Acuson's technology. (The characteristics cited are actually more easily discerned with Acuson's technology. I would also note that almost any high level ultrasound equipment--Diasonics, GE, etc. will allow one to identify the relevant characteristics. The key is hands on breast imaging experience. I really should have sent a holliday card to the Marketing Department at ATL) Any mention of Acuson in the article?

I have a few additional thoughts on the matter that are posted on the Acuson thread.

Disclaimer: I own shares of both ATL and Acuson and have an interest in price appreciation.
