DB: Took profits in VRIO & NETS yesterday PM. The bubble continues to expand, in my view, and it just seemed prudent to book some dollars. The whole net situation is getting more and more worrisome; It seems likely we will experience some kind of retreat next week -- if only a small one. Also took some pizza money out of PAIR, which has, it turns out, too many disappointed longs willing to sell at the smallest signs of life. I don't think the stock will move until there is a decent quarter under its belt and good forward visibility. (Unless someone offers to buy.) Will consider a return to XYLN for the earnings run up.
On FOX -- Also consider CBS, a pure play (I'm a long-term holder). Management is very focused on stock value and the company is in the process of wringing out what it can from various units. Sold 20% of infinity; marketwatch is going ipo; alliances building wiht AOL. This is a sleeper. Hard to say what price target for this year should be. I'm waiting for next earnings report before I try to figure that out. Want to see cash flow etc. Lots of people think $50 is easy, tho. We'll see. You also might consider some radio issues like AMFM, altho I don't think there's a lot of value in that sector now -- tho it is probably less cyclical than in the past. One other broadcaster: EMMS. Good operation. Solid, steady growth. Best, M2
