Here's a tad of good news from the TMF Puck over at the Motley Fool.
Best Regards, Jim
boards.fool.com Hey, guys. Good news from 3Dfx that will be officially announced Monday morning:
3Dfx just signed a deal with Micron Electronics, the third-largest PC direct seller behind Dell and Gateway. Neither Micron nor 3Dfx would project future revenues from the deal -- plus 3Dfx is technically in a "quiet period."
I went to Micron's website (MicronPC.com) and sure enough, under "Video" you can check a box to include a 12MB Diamond Monster 2 Voodoo 2 PCI video accelerator for an additional $199. Micron said it started selling the graphics accelerator Monday.
Considering STB already has established relationships with Dell and Gateway, this means that if the merger goes through, 3Dfx will be well-poised in terms of the PC direct sellers.
Before you ask, that's about all I know. I was supposed to get the press release, but it didn't make it into my email box for some reason. If I find out more, I will, of course, report back.
