Mpact is the #1 pick for 1999 by Steve Misener of BPI mutual funds as reported in today's Globe & Mail. Points made - it's Bell Canada electronic commerce arm, - it beat out heavyweight rivals to become the first official electronic service provider for the federal government (where the heck is that official release anyway?) - backing from a powerful parent means this one comes with a lot less risk than many other Internet stocks. Nothing we didn't know already but it may do wonders to increase awareness among investors outside of Montreal.
