Sam,
I agree with most of what you said, but I hope your assessment was strictly related to the companies, not their stocks. I think BGP stock should be somewhat higher than it is and that AMZN stock is driven 100% by greed.

The incredible situation that exists - that I never would have thought possible - is that Amazon could bid for Border's (or Barnes and Nobles) based on their market cap, a la Worldcom! They would be vaulted into another level of respectability and ...well... who knows what will happen next?

Border's, a year ago, was considered to be at the top of their class in using computers to maintain and predict inventory. Let's hope this quality still exists and '99 will be fine!
