Shipping costs are paid by buyer, not seller. Packaging costs are negligable compared to costs of rent, financing inventory, and personnel.

go check out amazon's costs for these things, they are in there filings on edgar. you are dealing with theory. facts are amazon states they may never be profitable. the books and tapes are such low margin business, that an increase in sales over the internet causes amzn to lose more money.

the problem is books and tapes are small cheap items.
