Alan, I too am impressed by the new Apple G3 computers as they present a lot of performance for the money. I currently have a NEC 200 Mhz Wintel computer so have no hands on experience with the new Apple computers. They have always been the choice of folks who were heavy into graphics work and with Firewire added this will make them even more attractive to those doing video editing and digital photography. I was sure happy to see that they are now including an Iomega Zip drive as standard on at least some G3 models. I am also hopeful that Apple will choose to include a Zip drive in the new Yosemite eMac computer due to be released this spring. The USB Zip will work fine for the rest of the eMac computers out there. Sales of these internet machines has been spectacular according to recent press reports. I see they also come in a variety of new colors now. This will be a headache for stores trying to decide on which colors to stock, but does add a bit of excitement to the Apple lineup. If I were in the market for a new computer and didn't have to worry about having my collection of old software work on the new machine, I would surely consider the purchase of one of the new G3 Apples though.
