I think the overall market will remain strong but that "leadership" will shift away from the Internut sector. There may be some "backfilling" in the general market because it has moved up so much but it will likely move higher from here for a while and be up by 10%-20% by the end of the year, IMO. I don't think that it will be a trend reversal year for small caps but they will likely do as well or somewhat better than the large cap indexes simply because of the great divergence in valuations and a lessening of market worries - not so much a great euphoria for small caps.

The reason I think that the top is here for Amazon and many other Internet stocks is because they have just come through the best season of the year and wild increases in their stock prices and now must face the comparatively lackluster quarters. Another reason is that the level of anticipation that these stocks will move up by huge amounts just because they have done so in the past is pervasive. I do not think that there is now a huge amount of money drooling over the opportunity to jump into the high-flyers. I think there is a HUGE amount of money getting more and more nervous that the huge paper gains could quickly vanish in a day or week. Anything that injects a minor amount of fear that prices might head down or simply that the good news is all known can trigger a rush for the exits.

Combine these sentiment factors with the signals of the TA, and there is a high probability, IMO, that the top is now reached.
