Andrew,
let's take a look at an interesting FACT. the explosion in value of internet stocks as I see it is based upon 2 things;
a- no need for rent and or conventional overhead, well almost, more to that at the bottom.
b- an UNLIMITED number of customers, rather than the old way of limits.
Seems true on the surface that is. until we see that ALL internet commerce companies are still doing business the old way. yes they got rid of rent and the attendant employees but they are still advertising. not in the newspapers but on the web. this added cost is enrmous and keeps them having to add it to the product and that's why they are losing money for the forseeable future. Did you know that CDnow gives you 15 to 17% of ever sale that comes from your link. Let them try to figure out how to get out from under that 100 ton boulder when the fit hits the shan and they have to lower prices or dry up and blow away. they're counting on volume to surpass marketing expenses some time in the future. and it also is the LIMITING aspect of building customer awareness.
but what if they could get their customers without advertising? and even earn money from their customers before ever having to ship a product. and then being able to sell the target product at the lowest cost.
isn't this what tsig is beginning to execute? Not only will they show a profit early on but have the potential to get more customers than all the rest combined almmost overnight. real question is if we need a skeptic here will they be able to deliver all they promise in such a short time?
but if they can what will happen to tsig price?
