My comment was meant to suggest that the retailers have too many non-MMX computers in inventory (as evidenced by poor sales figurs at Circuit City, Best Buy, Incredible Universe, etc). I don't think that impacts INTC because INTC probably isn't counting on selling a large percentage of non-MMX chips anymore. But, I do think it impacts those retailers who have machines that they just can't sell at a reasonable profit and must unload at unreasonable prices now.

In addition, I have a Pentium 120 at home but will upgrade to an MMX when there are more MMX products on the market. So, MMX, IMO, is not meant to simply attract new PC buyers.
