The recent discussion regarding the quality of Net2Phone calls has prompted me to at my 2 cents. Personally, I believe that internet telephony will be huge in the next few years, and that several companies such as IDT will benefit greatly. I think IDT is a great company and stock, and therefore I am a shareholder. Another company that I hold is FTEL fnet.net (Note, I am not hyping or recommending this stock) which is a small player in the industry, but with a great product (Data Voice Gateway), and great management. They are currently building their own international network. The reason I mention this is because the phone call quality is very good. I have recently called Spain several times using their internet telephony network and cannot tell the difference from a regular telephone call. I think the cost is about .30/minute. I have not used Net2Phone yet. If you are interested, give it a try using one of their phone cards which I believe can be ordered in $20 multiples. I would be interested in hearing a comparison.
