<Jim, these days when I visited CompUSA, I see people buying parallel Zip drive. I think that is the reason Zip drive defeat EZ135. A simply parallel port hook-up with out the complexity of configuring SCSI port that's what consumers are looking for. I see Syjet has this advantage. It also has low medium price 6.5 cents/MB with hard disk drive performance. Go Syjet!>
But the Iomega Jaz easily works as either a SCSI or a parallel device. Iomega sells a very small, simple and inexpensive SCSI to parallel adapter for the Jaz called the Jaz Traveller, it retails for $49. With this small adapter you can use your SCSI Jaz on any computer, desktop or portable very simply and quickly without losing the advantage of SCSI speed when you return to your home machine. Just pop the adapter on your parallel port and connect the SCSI cable to the other side. Seems like a "best of all possible worlds" solution to me. This also allows for cross-platform work for MAC users who need to use their MAC stuff on a PC.
